V8’s Roar into Sydney for the City’s ‘SuperWeek’ of Sport

The Hon. Nathan Rees, NSW Premier and Eric Roozendaal, Treasurer and Minister for State Development

will start the count down to the city’s biggest weekend of sport and entertainment at a special event at the

Sydney Opera House, Northern Boardwalk on Sunday, 29 November. 

With only five days to go until the Sydney Telstra 500, V8 Supercars Australia Executive Chairman, Tony

Cochrane will rev up the action in anticipation of Sydney’s biggest annual sporting and entertainment event to be

held 4 – 6 December. 

Drivers Jamie Whincup and Will Davison will also participate in a symbolic hand over of the Sydney Telstra

500 Trophy to the Premier, which will then remain under lock and key until it is presented to the winner on the

final day of the three-day event.

Also gearing up for the fight of his life wiil be boxer Danny Green who’s bout with legendary American Roy

Jones Jr will be staged at Acer Arena on 2 December, while golfers Michael Campbell and Greg Chalmers will

be setting their sights on securing an Australia Open win when the event kicks off on 3 December.


Set on the Northern Boardwalk, the event will take in the spectacular backdrop of the Sydney Harbour.
