Talented Athletes Attend Tennis Victoria Camp

The “Hard Yakka Camp”, presented by Tennis Victoria and proudly supported by Yakka and the

Kooyong Foundation, will be held this weekend at the Albert Reserve Tennis Centre.

Talented athletes aged 12 and under have been selected from a variety of opportunities,

including Talent Search, Junior Pennant, the Wayne Arthurs Cup and the Victorian Country

Tennis Association (VCTA) Squad Masters Event, to attend a one-day National Academy

Melbourne (NA-M) Talent Development Camp.

The camp will provide the athletes the experience of training with the National Academy Talent

Development Coaches, Ashley Naumann and Bernhard Goerlitz, and is designed to enhance and

structure the athletes’ training routines.  Instructional sessions will be held on-court and off-court

along with physical preparations sessions and matchplay sessions.

Tennis Victoria Player Development Manager, Elizabeth Peers, said, “The camp will deliver a

holistic and challenging experience for these talented junior athletes who are hoping to make it to

the next level.”

“The athletes have all been identified as having great potential and we hope that this training will

help them on their way to achieving their goals.”

Approximately 50 athletes will attend this invitation-only event, which is also designed to give

them a clear vision of the Player Development Pathway and what is required for them to progress

to the next level.
