SNOW AUSTRALIA LAUNCHES

ONE-STOP GUIDE TO AUSTRALIA’S SNOWFIELDS

INCLUDING EXCLUSIVE PACKAGE DEALS

-- Australia’s 8 major alpine resorts working together to introduce new visitors to the

Australian snowfields – plus get a great snow holiday deal for winter 09--

21 July, 2009 Dotted along the Great Dividing Range, Australia’s alpine resorts are

known for crisp air and warm welcomes. This season, for the first time, Australia’s major

australia.com, which also offers some exclusive package deals on snow holidays.

Developed by the Australian Ski Areas Association (ASAA), the Snow Australia website

provides a comprehensive introduction for new snow holiday-makers to the unique

Australian snow experience at its eight major alpine resorts in both New South Wales and

Victoria:  at Charlotte Pass, Perisher, Selwyn, and Thredbo; and Falls Creek, Hotham,

Mt. Buller and Mt. Baw Baw, respectively.

This one-stop shop enables beginners and experienced skiers alike to compare and

contrast each resort by location, size of resort, snow reports, number of trails and

difficulty of runs, and – of course – price.

Packages are on offer for beginners and keen skiers and riders. Inclusions available range

from accommodation, transport, lessons – group and private, equipment and clothing

hire, to meals, spa treatment and activities (varying at each resort) such as snow tubing,

Snow Groomer tours, snowmobiling, tobogganing, snowbungy, cross country, snow

shoeing and more. The site conveniently filters products into a number of categories,

being Romantic Getaways, Family, Rates for Mates and First Timers, to assist in the

decision making and understanding that such getaways are not limited to the warmer

destinations.

Australia has a fantastic range of alpine resorts with easy access from major cities on

good roads, as well as air, bus and train options. They also boast an enormous variety in

offerings with on and off snow accommodation, ranging from youth hostel, through

budget accommodations, lodges, apartments to 5 star options, some with ski-in/ski out

access. The unique location of the resorts means guests have the option to stay in the

snow for a full winter experience, rather than drive up to the mountains each day.

“This new website is designed to help in the process of making a decision about snow

holidays and gives a quick snapshot of what is on offer. The site provides many links to

the great opportunities each resort provides and allows viewers to discover what an

Australian snow holiday can offer and how easy it can be,” said Gary Grant, General

Manager Marketing and Hospitality for Perisher and spokesman for Snow Australia.

“Now with packages at www.snow-australia.com/Deals, beginners, couples, families or

groups can find the resort that suits their needs and a special offer that will save them

some money.”

Snow Australia’s new website also provides snow reports and a gallery of photographs

and videos to give snow travelers an even better feel of each resort.  And, with more than

20 ‘snowcams’ broadcasting live from throughout the region, people can check real-time

conditions at each resort with their own eyes before they book.
