HBA Around the Bay in a Day Get Sponsored for The Smith Family
When:
Sunday 17 October, 2010
Rides start: between 5.30am – 8.00am
Rides conclude: between 1pm – 5.30pm (roughly)
Where:
5 ride distance options: 50km – 250km around Port Phillip Bay
Starts and finish: Alexandra Gardens, Melbourne
With the exception of the 100km ride, this starts in Sorrento.
Why:
In its 18th year, Australia’s premier bike challenge event, HBA Around the Bay in a Day
is set to put people of all ages and fitness levels to the test. Many are also riding for a
reason, to raise funds for disadvantage Aussie kids.
How:
The event offers a challenge for all, with 5 distances to choose from:
250km, 210km, 100km, HBA 50km Challenge and the 80km School Challenge.
Who:
Record braking numbers of over 16,500 bike riders will participate in HBA Around the Bay in
a Day with riders coming in from around the globe.
The following event ambassadors will be getting on their bike to take on the challenge:

FERRY CROSSINGS – Sorrento & Queenscliff between 9:00am – 1:00pm
RECOMMENDED REST AREA PHOTO OPP– Peter Scullin Reserve, Mordialloc, between 9:30am –
3:00pm
RECOMMENDED ROUTE PHOTO OPP – Beach Road & Nepean Hwy, between 10:00am – 4:00pm
FINISH – Alexandra Gardens, Melbourne: Majority of riders conclude between ²:00pm – 4:00pm
