North West Athletics Super Clinic better than ever
22 May 2008
NSW Sport and Recreation, in conjunction with NSW Little Athletics, is conducting a development
clinic for young athletes who wish to enhance and develop their track and field skills. The 2008
North West Athletics Super Clinic will be held at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School in
Tamworth on July 17 and 18.
Regional Manager for NSW Sport and Recreation, Mark Golledge, said the North West Athletics
Super Clinic is a new name for an athletics development initiative that has been conducted for a
number of years.
We are pleased to continue working in partnership with Little Athletics, said Mr Golledge.
The 2008 North West Athletics Super Clinic is set to continue the great work undertaken at
previous Athletics Development Camps.
The Clinic will be conducted by Little Athletics NSW and include State and National level coaches.
It will give young athletes the opportunity to build on their existing skills and develop new abilities
in a wide range track and field disciplines.
Participants will receive top class coaching, lunch, morning and afternoon fruit breaks, as well as
a souvenir t-shirt and drink bottle.
Athletes need not be of representative standard, but they do need to have an interest in developing
their skills, display ability to warrant attendance at the camp, and be aged between 8 and 17 years
on 30 September, 2008.
The Super Clinic in its revised format will continue to provide the same skill and knowledge
benefits for young athletes in the region, added Mr Golledge.
This year we are also providing free information workshops for parents.
Places at the 2008 Super Clinic are still available and any parent or young athlete who wishes to
attend should contact the Tamworth NSW Sport and Recreation Office on 6766 1200 for further
details.
