CRICKETING LEGENDS SIGNED, SEALED & DELIVERED
Demand for celebrity signatures has never been stronger as investors shift away from shares and property.
Neither have fared well in the current economic crisis unlike memorabilia, which is traditionally seen as being
recession-proof.
While most signatures can expect to be priced from $100 and upwards depending on the status of the
celebrity Leski Auctions is offering a two Cricketers Club of New South Wales Visitors Books where the
signatures will, in effect, cost around $5 each based on the pre-sale estimate.
Books like these rarely make their way to auction as they are a unique part of sporting history and tend to be
retained by the Clubs as a continuing link to the past. This rare offering includes two Donald Bradman
signatures together with 332 others comprising the Test teams of South Africa (1963), England (1964), New
Zealand and India (1967), West Indies (1968) plus a host of other national and NSW teams.
Lot 541 will be offered for sale by Leski Auctions in Melbourne on Wednesday, May 13th at 6.00pm. It has
a presale estimate of $2,000 $2,500.
Bradman signatures have never lost their appeal and only increase in value, says Charles Leski. The thing
that makes this lot special is the provenance from one of Australias oldest and most esteemed sporting
Clubs. The people whose signatures appear in these books are members of the cricketing elite.
