Australian LPGA Tour Rookie joins the Sundog Eyewear team

Sydney, Australia: Sarah Kemp, one of Australian golf’s most promising young players,

has joined the Sundog Eyewear Genuine Performance team that includes LPGA Tour

superstar Paula Creamer, 2003 Masters Champion Mike Weir, and top PGA Tour player

Hunter Mahan.

The 22-year-old LPGA Tour rookie from Sydney will wear Sundog Eyewear and the

distinctive stylized Sundog name on her cap this week in her 13th LPGA Tour start at the

State Farm Classic in Springfield, Illinois.

“I couldn’t be happier to be part of such a great team on and off the course,” said Kemp,

who now makes her home in Tuncurry, four hours up the coast from Sydney. “We

Aussies certainly are well aware of the need for proper sun protection, and when I see

Paula, Mike and Hunter wearing Sundog sunnies, I know they not only protect but

perform.”

Kemp knows all about performance on the course. Last year on the European Tour Kemp

had six top 10 finishes. And last fall at the LPGA Qualifying School, in incredibly

dramatic fashion, Kemp birdied the final four holes to earn her Tour card by a single

stroke.

“From her great finish at Q-School alone, we know Sarah has all the qualities of tenacity

and determination to succeed that we look for in all of our Genuine Performance

athletes,” said John Whitney, Vice President of Product Development

Kemp didn’t start playing golf until age 12, but by 15 she was a scratch player. “I did

well in the New South Wales Junior Open, so it was then that I knew I wanted to play

professionally,” she recalled.

She had a stellar junior career that included the 2003 Australian Junior Amateur

Championship, Runner Up in the 2004 Australian Amateur Championships, and two

victories in the Australian 72-hole Stroke Play. After winning the Stroke Play that second

time in 2005, Kemp fulfilled part of her dream and turned pro. Now she has made it to

women’s golf biggest stage. Sundog Eyewear welcomes Sarah to the Genuine

Performance team and wishes her the best of luck this season and beyond on the LPGA

Tour.

“I am delighted to have been able to bring Sarah Kemp into the Sundog family as her

personal goal is to be Australia’s number one golfing export and she is well on the way to

being just that,” said Ralph Lennan, Managing Director, Sundog Eyewear Australia. “On

the LPGA Tour, Sarah will be a wonderful ambassador for Australia as well as for

Sundog Eyewear.”
