Despite seas easing overnight it was decided to continue the event at Sharky’s Beach, near Bulli,

to take advantage of the less exposed beach, although the surf conditions were still testing for

many crews.

The record numbers of crews involved however have proven problematic for organisers with

Bert Hunt, ASRL President, indicating a possibly longer event in future.

Commander Rod Harrod, Navy Coordinator for the event, said “It was a great example of team

work, fitness and motivation and everyone would go away happy.”

Bert Hunt, President, Australian Surf Rowers League or Navy Commander Rod Harrod are

available for interview by contacting Darren Saffin on 0411 089 209.
