Thousands Spin with Stars for Amys Ride
This weekends fifth annual Amys Ride is expected to draw record participant levels, as cyclists from
around the country descend on Geelong to take part in the charity ride.
The chance to spin alongside World Champion Cadel Evans and Tour de France heroes Phil Anderson
and Robbie McEwen is proving too good an opportunity to miss for many riding enthusiasts.
A 120km ride along the spectacular Bellarine Peninsula will draw some of the biggest names in world
cycling, keen to support the Amy Gillett Foundation, which was inspired by the life of Amy Gillett and
aims to reduce the incidence of death and injury caused by interaction between cyclists and
motorists.
Thousands of riders will enjoy this
stunning stretch alongside
their cycling stars, although
a 60km
alternative route also an option. A 27km route has become increasingly popular with families, whilst a
1km loop is hotly anticipated by youngsters keen to get familiar with their bikes without worrying about
sharing the road with motorists.
See several thousands of cyclists
from world champions to weekend warriors and budding
youngsters enjoy a day out and support a worthy cause.
Outstanding pictorial opportunities assured.
