Special Bar Crusher heads for Docklands

Bar Crusher Boats will test consumer interest in

a special one-off barra fishing model at the

Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle

Festival early next month.

Developed in collaboration with Navico

Australia's Dave Silva, the 560XS Tournament

model is designed around Dave's passion for

tournament barra fishing in the Top End.

The 560XS Tournament, to be displayed at

Docklands from 5 to 7 February, is built on Bar

Crusher’s heavy-duty plate aluminium 6.1

metre 560 hull.

It features Waveslicer™ non-pounding hull,

Rigideck™ sub-floor and Quickflow™ water

ballast technology to cope easily with messy

conditions on the move and provide a stable casting platform at rest.

Bar Crusher developed the new boat from its existing 560XS Reef Sport, moving the console to the

starboard side and converting the portside pocket into a locker for rods and tackle.

The large forward casting platform is covered with 10mm high-density foam and carpeted to help

reduce fatigue, with spacious below-floor storage plus a plumbed fish well big enough to handle a

metre-plus barra.

Further casting space has been incorporated aft, with spigots to fit three seats when needed, and

special equipment includes Lowrance HDS (High-Definition System) electronics, with a Lowrance

HDS-10 on the console, another in the portside rear corner, and a single HDS-7 at the bow.

Bar Crusher will gauge customer interest at the Boat & Lifestyle Festival, and may add the 560XS

Tournament to its regular range if there is sufficient demand.

Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle Festival is organised by the Boating Industry Association

of Victoria (BIA) and runs from Friday 5 February to Sunday 7 February, 2010. Opening hours are

10am to 6pm daily except Friday, when the show closes at 8pm.

Tickets to the on-water show are just $15 for adults and $8 for children under 16 and concession

holders, and families of up to 2 adults and 3 children are $35.
