Celebrate Australia Day aboard at Docklands
Melbourne Docklands offers the ultimate
Australia Day celebration with world class
yacht racing followed by a long weekend berth
at Waterfront City Marina.
The marina is home to the Audi Victoria Week
racing from Thursday through to Saturday
morning but then has berths ready and waiting
for a four-day weekend aboard.
Anyone with an eye for yacht racing will enjoy the action-packed Audi racing on Thursday
and Friday.
Watch from the spectator marquee as world class IRC racers head out on the Docklands
Invitational, while their smaller cousins, the Dart SB3 sailboats, compete in the King of the
Docklands.
Those who prefer to participate can join in the International One Metre Challenge, testing
their skill with a radio controlled yacht (open to skippers aged 15 and over) or have a go on
board an Access Dinghies sailboat both days from 4pm.
On Friday evening the Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race fleet will berth at Waterfront
City Marina for an overnight stay before heading out around 8 am for the race to Geelong.
As soon as the Passage Race boats clear the marina, the berths will be ready for boaties to
move in for a relaxing Australia Day weekend on their vessels at the marina.
Waterfront City Marina public berths cost just $35 a night, complete with free access to the
marina lounge and all its facilities, including internet, TV, bathroom and laundry.
Advance booking is essential, but with 31 berths there is room for everyone, whether power
