A weekend of fun activities at Docklands Boat Show
Fishing, kayaking, water ski demonstrations,
live music and dance lessons are just some of
the activities on offer at next months
Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle
Festival.
Following its success from last year, the Fishing
Getaways BIA Bream Classic will stage the first
round of its fishing competition over the
weekend of the Festival.
The fishing competition will be just one of
many activities on offer at the three day Boat &
Lifestyle Festival at Docklands from 5 to 7
February.
Fifty boats are expected to take part in the fishing competition in the waters of the Yarra and
Maribyrnong Rivers and Port Phillip Bay before reporting back to the main stage at Waterfront City
each day for weigh in.
Places are still available for the competition at a cost of $200 per team, and registrations can be

For a taste of boating in something special, there will free kayaking throughout the weekend of the
Festival as well as dragon boat rides on Saturday February 6.
There will also be water ski demonstrations at 11am and 2pm daily.
Special attractions on the main stage include a free dance class on Saturday 5 February for people
who want to learn the signature dance from a favorite movie, plus live music from 2pm each day of
the Festival.
Getting to Docklands has never been easier, with five tram services including the free City Circle
Tram from Flinders, Spring or LaTrobe streets; Route 30 via LaTrobe Street; Route 48 via Collins
Street; Route 70 along Harbour Esplanade and Docklands Drive; and Route 86 via Bourke Street.
Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle Festival is organised by the Boating Industry Association
of Victoria (BIA) and runs from Friday 5 February to Sunday 7 February, 2010. Opening hours are
10am to 6pm daily except Friday, when the show closes at 8pm.
Tickets to the on-water show are just $15 for adults and $8 for children under 16 and concession
holders, and families of up to 2 adults and 3 children are $35.
