Synthetic Sports Ground for Kensington - an Australian First


Lord Mayor Robert Doyle will today unveil Australia's first synthetic sports ground to comply with AFL, Cricket Australia, IRB and FIFA official playing standards.

The new surface at JJ Holland Park in Kensington has been designed to withstand up to four times more activity than natural turf sports fields. Installing synthetic sports pitches is part of Council's strategy to manage the ongoing impact of climate change.
